CFS is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our La Porte, IN team. This onsite role focuses on analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting financial reporting, and delivering actionable insights to improve operational performance.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of manufacturing or cost accounting experience, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing accounting or cost accounting experience.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and production variances.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports, inventory data, and financial information to identify trends and opportunities.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Investigate cost and production variances and communicate findings to management and operations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, standard costing, and cost analysis.
• Monitor inventory and manufacturing-related expenses for accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with operations and other departments to improve cost controls and profitability.
• Identify process improvements and provide analytical support for business decisions.
• Ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards.
