Job summary

Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc. in Elk Grove, CA seeks a Corporate Controller to steward financial operations for a government contracting organization.

You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, manage GL, AP/AR, payroll, and cost accounting, and ensure GAAP and FAR/CAS/DCAA compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a government contracting environment.
• Deep knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proven experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP systems.
• Budget and forecast management.
• Property management experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and government contracting regulations.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.
• Manage indirect rate calculations, incurred cost submissions, and contract cost reporting.
• Partner with program managers to provide financial insights that drive contract performance and profitability.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure audit readiness.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Liaise with CPA for tax preparation and books of its other 2 entities.
• Assist management in future plans and proposals.
• Prepare contractors monthly billing estimates and annual reports.
• Other duties as assigned and prepared to work hands-on.
