Job summary

NPR in the United States is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications to guide institutional messaging across employees, member stations, donors, and the public. You will craft strategies, lead executive communications, and manage a team to deliver high-impact storytelling and coverage around major initiatives.

The role requires strong writing, strategic thinking, and leadership, with hybrid work in DC or NYC and a commitment to NPR's mission and public service.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, public affairs, or strategic communications.
• Experience leading communications strategies for complex organizations.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and messaging skills.
• Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives.
• Experience managing sensitive communications and organizational issues.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent judgment, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute corporate communications strategy aligned with NPR priorities.
• Drive executive communications support, including speeches and briefings.
• Oversee media relations and proactive strategy for key initiatives.
• Engage stakeholders and build cross-functional alignment.
