Job summary

Collectors Universe, Inc. is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to lead the day-to-day communications for Collectors Holdings and its brands, including PSA, Beckett, SGC, and PCGS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, issues management, or public affairs.
• Experience preparing senior executives for media and high-stakes moments.
• Exposure to public-company or late-stage environments strongly preferred.
• An excellent writer and editor who can turn complex facts into plain language fast.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first responder when issues surface, work through the facts with Legal, Product, Operations, and Customer Care, and recommend a strategy.
• Build and maintain issues playbooks, holding statements, escalation paths, and social listening triggers in partnership with social, agency, and customer service partners.
• Prepare executives for media interviews, conferences, community events, and high-stakes announcements.
• Develop executive platform plans covering speaking opportunities, bylines, awards, and earned profile.
• Help define and enforce rules of engagement for leaders who are active on social media and in the hobby community.
• Partner with across teams for major enterprise events and investor-facing materials.
• Establish and maintain clear investor, customer, and public narratives.
• Prepare and manage disclosure to key audiences including our leaders, board and investors of major moments or events.
• Run proactive and reactive corporate media relations across business, financial, and trade press, using the enterprise narrative set by the Head of Communications.
• Work closely with our media relations leader to advance corporate strategies and narratives through earned storytelling.
• Own the cadence and execution of corporate milestones, acquisitions, partnerships, and leadership news, and coordinate with portfolio brand teams so corporate and brand stories don't collide.
• Write and edit corporate press releases, statements, Q&A, briefing documents, and key messages.
• Work with Social & Community leaders to keep high-visibility public conversations consistent with corporate positioning.
• Apply the guardrails and escalation paths for community and social engagement, and flag when a conversation needs a corporate response.
• Partner with Internal Communications and People teams so employees hear major news from us first and can explain what it means.
• Provide talking points that help employees speak accurately about business units they don't work in.
• Manage PR agency and vendor relationships, including scope, budget, and output.
• Run media monitoring, reporting, and measurement that informs strategy and makes us more accurate and nimble in our responses and positions.
