Job summary

Pearson is seeking a strategic, hands-on Lead Specialist in Corporate Communications to shape and protect our reputation across external and internal channels. You will integrate Communications for Virtual Learning with Career Readiness and AI Innovation initiatives.

You will work with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Sales and HR to translate complex business activity into clear, engaging narratives for executives and audiences worldwide.

Qualifications

• Broad experience across Corporate, Strategic or Integrated Communications.
• Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution.
• Strong narrative development and messaging for multiple audiences.
• Experience with customers, employees, policymakers, investors and senior leaders.
• Strong B2B communications experience; additional B2B2C or consumer-facing experience advantageous.
• Experience supporting executive communications and leadership events.
• Experience managing issues, reputation or crisis communications.
• Proactive mindset to drive activity with minimal briefing.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive and reactive communications across PR, internal comms, social media, customer comms, public affairs and crisis communications.
• Develop narratives and messaging frameworks aligned to Pearson’s priorities and business objectives.
• Support Pearson’s Virtual Learning business and connect activity to Career Readiness, Workforce Readiness and AI Innovation.
• Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Sales, Media Relations, Government Relations, HR and Corporate Communications.
• Identify launches, conferences, campaigns and reputational risks, ensuring teams are aligned.
• Prepare senior leaders for media opportunities, events and all-hands meetings with briefings and presentations.
• Provide comms support for executive leadership communications, including presentations and internal messaging.
• Manage issues and crisis communications planning and response.
• Monitor media sentiment and use insights to inform strategies.
• Produce executive-ready materials in Word and PowerPoint with high attention to detail.
