Job summary

Sam's Club Bentonville is seeking a Senior Manager, Controllership to lead risk-aware financial reporting and internal controls with a strategic, hands-on approach. You will partner with Finance and Operations to improve efficiency, drive automation, and strengthen governance across the organization.

The role requires CPA certification, substantial experience in public accounting and month-end close, and a proven ability to mentor teams while delivering practical, compliant solutions aligned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with 4 years’ experience OR 6 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area; 1 year supervisory experience.
• CPA designation or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience with GAAP and SOX compliance and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, balance sheet integrity, and GAAP/SOX compliance.
• Independently identify accounting risks and develop practical business solutions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from identification through implementation with hands-on ownership.
• Serve as advisor, influencing decisions and balancing priorities with accounting integrity.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and technology solutions.
• Partner with Finance and Operations to resolve complex issues and navigate ambiguity.
