Job summary

Yarde Metals is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations from our Southington, CT corporate office. You will oversee GL, A/R, A/P, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

You will partner with leadership to drive KPI-informed decisions, manage month-end close, and maintain SOX compliance, while developing a high-performing accounting team in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing or metals service industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing a team of 4 or more.
• Advanced Excel and quantitative analysis skills.
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Lead daily financial operations and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Produce timely, accurate records with strong internal controls and audits.
• Manage SOX compliance and financial controls across departments.
• Direct month-end close activities, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Develop KPIs to support sales, operations, and expense decisions.
• Collaborate with leadership to drive business outcomes.
