Job summary

Lakeshore Landscaping is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the full accounting function as the company transitions off an embedded finance model. This is a high-visibility role with meaningful ownership: you will report directly to senior leadership, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and serve as the primary accounting liaison for ongoing and future acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience; 2+ years at Controller/Senior Accounting Manager.
• Experience with ASC 805 acquisition accounting and opening balance sheet prep.
• Experience with post-closing adjustments and working capital determinations.
• GAAP financial reporting experience for privately held companies.
• Strong Excel skills for modeling, reconciliations, and large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to non-accountants and counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Own the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with GAAP statements.
• Maintain an audit-ready control environment and prepare reconciliations.
• Support acquisition accounting, post-close settlements, and WC determinations.
• Interface with sellers and legal on post-close positions and docs.
• Oversee internal controls, policies, and multi-entity accounting standards.
• Administer Aspire ERP; pursue automation and data integrity improvements.
• Help build an accounting team and collaborate with operating partners and finance.
