Job summary

Cymbiotika in San Diego, CA, seeks a strategic Controller to own the company’s accounting operations, monthly close, and financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the accounting team, ensure accuracy, and drive process improvements in a fast‑growing consumer products environment.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on expertise in U.S. GAAP, NetSuite, multi‑entity accounting, and a CPA. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in San Diego four days per week with remote Fridays.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
• Experience supporting sales tax compliance and income tax reporting.
• Proficient in NetSuite and Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Onsite in San Diego with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Own monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Ensure timely reporting, accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Oversee cost accounting, fixed assets, and accounts receivable processes.
• Lead preparation of the U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain accounting policies and technical accounting guidance.
• Establish balance sheet reviews and account analyses.
• Drive accounting automations and system optimizations.
• Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations.
• Assist with tax compliance and audits.
