Apeiron Labs Inc. is seeking a hands-on Controller with a strong FP&A orientation to build and own the company’s financial infrastructure from the ground up in Cambridge, MA. You will own the close, controls, and the finance function while partnering with the CEO and leadership.

This role reports on-site in Boston/Cambridge and requires experience with government contracting (DCAA) and scalable systems. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis to support growth and investor

Qualificações

• 8+ years in accounting or FP&A with close ownership and financial modeling.
• Startup or high-growth experience; builds processes with limited infra.
• Strong GAAP foundation; CPA and/or MBA a plus but not required.
• Experience with external auditors, banks, and fundraising reporting.
• Excellent communication with CEO and leadership; high ownership mindset.
• Experience scaling finance for Series A/B and in-house transitions.

Responsabilidades

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP-compliant statements.
• Build accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation for scaling.
• Manage general ledger, revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, and COA.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and treasury/cash management.
• Lead relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax preparers, and banks; manage audits and filings.
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and equity administration; cap table support.
• Stand up scalable systems/tools (ERP, expense management) for growth.
• Build financial model, annual budget, and rolling forecasts; scenario analysis.
• Deliver monthly reporting packages and board materials with insights.
• Develop KPIs and unit economics with department leads.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and runway; support fundraising materials.
• Provide ad hoc analysis for pricing, hiring, vendor negotiations.
• Interface with DCAA for audits and monthly DoD billing statements.
• Identify margins/efficiency improvements; advise CEO and leadership.
