Job summary

Brightway Insurance is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for a fast-growing, technology-driven distribution business. You will build and mentor a best-in-class accounting organization, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive the controls framework to support rapid growth and potential public markets readiness.

You will partner with the CFO and executive team to design scalable processes, implement strong internal controls, and deliver audit-ready

Qualifications

10 to 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles.
Big 4 accounting firm experience required (Audit or Advisory track preferred)
Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)

Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation, review, and consolidation of financial statements to ensure GAAP compliance.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes with timely reporting.
Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and dashboards for senior management and the board.
Design, test, and document internal controls aligned with COSO and SOX readiness.
Monitor IT general controls and coordinate with IT and external auditors on control testing.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies for audits and tax filings.
