Job summary

Clayton County Water Authority seeks a Controller to lead accounting, budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting functions. You will oversee GAAP/GASB compliance, drive internal controls, and partner with senior leadership to safeguard assets and ensure timely reporting.

The role directs the annual ACFR, supports the budget cycle, and champions process improvements and staff development in a dynamic public utility environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field with eight years of progressively responsible accounting/financial management experience.
• CPA license in active/good standing required.
• Experience with ACFR and GASB standards in governmental/public utilities context preferred.
• Minimum three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience in governmental/public sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
• Oversee audits and the annual ACFR process.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Provide financial leadership to CFO and executive team.
• Manage and develop Finance staff and ensure timely financial information.
