Job summary

The ideal candidate will hold an active CPA license, possess a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, and bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including 3+ years in management, with strong GAAP/GASB knowledge.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB.
• Experience preparing or overseeing an ACFR.
• Governmental, public-sector, or similarly complex accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and internal controls.
• Lead annual audit activities and preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and provide oversight to the accounting and finance team.
