Job summary

Straub Collaborative is seeking a Controller to own the accounting function for the company and its affiliated entities. You will report to the CFO, lead a small accounting team, and drive reliable financial information to guide strategy and profitability.

You will manage month-end close, intercompany accounting, and internal controls while mentoring staff and collaborating with HR on talent matters. This is a hands-on leadership role in a creative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2–3 years in a controller/assistant controller or accounting manager role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and close processes.
• Experience supervising staff and coaching junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close and deliver accurate financial statements.
• Maintain rolling cash forecast and annual budget.
• Record payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll liabilities.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting processes and internal controls.
• Lead day-to-day audit fieldwork and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage intercompany accounting across affiliated entities.
• Develop the accounting team and collaborate with CFO and HR on hiring.
• Drive system implementations and process improvements.
• Provide coverage during peak periods.
