Job summary

The Haskell Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking a senior Procurement and Supply Chain professional to lead project procurement and subcontract buyout across preconstruction, buyout, construction and change management.

You will serve as the primary procurement resource for assigned projects, mentor Supply Chain Specialists, and ensure procurement execution aligns with schedules, budgets, quality, and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 7 years in procurement/estimating/construction.
• Experience supporting complex procurement activities, vendor negotiations, and subcontractor management.
• Strong knowledge of construction procurement and subcontract buyout.
• Procore experience preferred; experience with ERP or document control systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• SPSM, CPSM, CPPP or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Experience in AEC industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project procurement and subcontract buyout activities, including sourcing, bid solicitation, commercial evaluation, negotiation, and award.
• Develop procurement execution strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
• Serve as primary supply chain point of contact for assigned projects.
• Develop bid lists and sourcing strategies for subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and quantity takeoffs.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier prequalification and risk evaluations.
• Lead RFP/RFQ activities and commercial evaluations.
• Prepare bid tabulations and award recommendations.
• Negotiate and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders in coordination with Legal, Operations, and Project Management.
• Coordinate contract reviews with Legal and Operations
• Monitor procurement of long-lead materials and equipment.
• Participate in project kickoff, procurement, and turnover meetings.
• Coordinate with Estimating, Preconstruction, Engineering, Operations, and Project Management.
• Develop strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships.
• Mentor Supply Chain Specialists.
• Maintain procurement reporting, trackers, and templates.
• Drive cost savings, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
• Travel approximately 10% - 25%
