Job summary

Spire Solutions, a subsidiary of The Weitz Company, is seeking a Procurement Division Manager in Des Moines, IA to oversee procurement for construction sites, ensuring timely material delivery and coordination with project teams, suppliers, and manufacturers.

You will lead supplier negotiations, manage purchase orders, evaluate performance, and mentor the procurement team while developing supplier strategy to improve cost, quality, and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a procurement function in a construction related industry.
• Lean principles experience is a plus.
• Industry related degree is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Manage purchase orders while aligning with project schedules and material availability.
• Evaluate supplier performance and identify new suppliers as needed.
• Develop supplier work statements, proposals, and supplier strategy.
• Resolve escalated payment and/or material discrepancies.
• Review technical documentation, specifications, bids, submittals, and RFQ packages.
• Collaborate with project, logistics, and procurement teams for improvements.
• Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead, develop, and mentor procurement team members.
