Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead complex, high-value capital projects such as major renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build and build-to-suit construction.

You will act as Owner’s representative, coordinating architects, engineers, and contractors while managing budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications. Travel 60–70% across regions; position is safety sensitive, based in the Mid-Central/Midwest.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
• 10–15 years’ related experience in commercial construction.
• Advanced knowledge of building systems and construction processes.
• Proven management of complex projects, including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build.
• Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-value capital projects, including renovations, expansions, and ground-up design-build.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects and manage schedules and budgets.
• Provide strategic input on planning, execution, and risk management.
• Coordinate with senior leadership and stakeholders, delivering regular updates.
• Develop bids, cost analyses, and contractor recommendations for leadership.
• Mentor junior team members and drive cross-functional collaboration.
