Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead complex capital projects, including major renovations and build-to-suit work, across the Midwest region.

This Owner's representative will guide cross-functional teams and coordinate with executives to ensure timely, on-budget delivery. Candidates should have a strong background in commercial construction, 10–15 years of experience, and proven leadership in multi-site programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 10-15 years' related experience in commercial construction
• Advanced knowledge of building systems and construction processes
• Proven management of complex projects including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build
• Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects

Responsibilities

• Lead complex or high-value capital projects, including major renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build and build-to-suit construction.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects and manage project budgets and timelines.
• Provide strategic input on planning and execution; regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Define scopes, translate requirements into estimates and establish budgets.
• Identify risks and value engineering opportunities; develop mitigation strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate across architects, engineers, contractors and vendors.
