Job summary

MCL Construction in Omaha, NE seeks a Controller to build the financial foundation the company scales on. You will lead monthly closes, strengthen internal controls, and drive FP&A development across the business.

The role requires 8–10+ years of accounting, an active CPA, and a track record in budgeting, audits, and intercompany accounting. Construction industry experience is preferred but not required. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with CPA
• Active CPA license and a bachelor's degree in accounting
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and audits
• ERP proficiency and process-improvement mindset
• Construction industry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and maintain internal controls.
• Oversee insurance renewals and risk management coordination.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Develop executive reporting, financial models, and KPI dashboards.
• Lead audits and liaise with external auditors.
