Job summary

Kimmel & Associates' client, a privately held commercial general contractor, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations in Mobile, AL. Reporting to the President, the CFO will shape financial strategy, planning, and performance across the organization.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in construction finance, deep WIP and job costing knowledge, and expertise in ERP systems such as Sage, Viewpoint/Vista, or Foundations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership in commercial construction.
• Experience as CFO/VP Finance/Controller or equivalent in a General Contractor.
• Knowledge of construction accounting, WIP, percent-of-completion, job costing, cash flow.
• Experience with banking relationships, bonding, audits, and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, finance, and financial reporting functions.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, long-range planning.
• Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and margin analysis.
• Direct banking relationships, bonding, insurance programs, audits, and tax coordination.
• Develop financial strategies to support growth and operational excellence.
• Partner with leadership to improve profitability and business planning.
• Monitor key metrics and provide actionable finance recommendations.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes.
• Lead and mentor the accounting/finance team toward excellence.
