Job summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. in Katy, Texas is seeking a Buyer to connect field needs with the supply chain and ensure projects have the materials and services required for success.

You will work closely with procurement experts to source, evaluate, and manage vendors while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. This role emphasizes cost-effective purchasing, compliance with procurement policies, and proactive risk management to keep project schedules on track.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree asset.
• 1 year of experience in supply chain or procurement preferred.
• Basic construction knowledge and awareness of procurement processes.
• Knowledge of procurement laws and best practices.
• Familiarity with construction materials, tools and equipment.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchases materials, assets and services following policies and procedures.
• Selects vendors based on criteria like price, quality and delivery.
• Develops commodity knowledge with procurement experts.
• Creates and issues purchase documents and applies purchasing agreements.
• Maintains constructive relationships with stakeholders.
• Identifies and escalates risks affecting deliverables and schedules.
• Coordinates purchasing with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepares and analyzes requests for quotes and interprets information requests.
• Resolves conflicts between purchaser and supplier for standard purchases.
• Leverages market knowledge to improve processes and create value.
• Maintains preventive maintenance for operating equipment.
