Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Compensation Manager to own the design, governance, and administration of compensation programs, ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness. You will lead analyses, workforce models, and pay governance, preparing materials for the Compensation Committee and senior leadership.

The role requires 8+ years in HR/compensation, a four-year degree, strong Excel and data skills, and CCP preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR or compensation experience.
• Four-year degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
• Experience supporting Compensation Committee or Board materials preferred.
• Knowledge of compliance regulations and pay governance.
• Strong quantitative analytics, financial modeling, and data interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own design, governance, and administration of compensation policies and plans.
• Develop analyses, workforce models, and recommendations to support strategy and Committee decisions.
• Prepare materials for the Compensation Committee and executive leadership.
• Review merit, promotional, and market-based pay adjustments for consistency with data and philosophy.
• Conduct audits of policies, plan eligibility, and system data; provide summaries and metrics.
• Lead development of manager tools, training, and process documentation on pay practices.
• Oversee salary survey participation and updates to policies and structures.
