Job summary

Dow Jones in New York, NY is seeking a Compensation Analyst to serve as a trusted advisor on pay strategy and programs. You will partner with HRBPs, Talent, Finance, and leaders to deliver annual pay reviews, promotions, incentives, and other rewards while ensuring competitive, equitable practices aligned with business goals.

You will analyze market data and internal pay insights, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and create reporting to support leadership decision-making.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in compensation, HR, or related field with guidance to HR or business stakeholders.
• Experience with market benchmarking, job evaluation, salary structures, pay equity, and program administration.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and turn insights into recommendations.
• Strong business partnering and communication skills to advise leaders at varying levels.
• Experience with HR systems and data analysis tools; advanced Excel preferred.
• Attention to detail with discretion for sensitive compensation information.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Compensation team, People Business Partners, and leaders to guide pay decisions, promotions, changes, new hires, retention, and other matters.
• Apply compensation principles, market data, internal equity, and guidelines to develop practical recommendations.
• Conduct compensation analysis using market benchmarks and internal data to assess position and equity.
• Support annual compensation cycles and ongoing decisions, including merit, promotions, incentives, and pay programs.
• Identify trends, potential pay compression, equity concerns, and areas needing review.
• Translate data into insights that inform leaders about options and factors in compensation decisions.
• Develop and deliver compensation reporting and analytics for leadership using data trends to inform decisions.
• Build relationships and grow compensation consulting capabilities, increasing independence on complex matters.
