Job summary

AfriThrive Inc. is seeking a Community and Volunteer Engagement Manager to design scalable volunteer and community systems that support food access, cultural farming, youth, and school-based initiatives in Silver Spring, MD.

The role begins part-time (20-25 hours/week) with a clear pathway to full-time within 12 months based on performance. You will lead partnerships with community organizations and corporate partners, recruit and train volunteers, and supervise the Volunteer Coordinator while

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in volunteer management or community engagement.
• Experience supervising staff or coordinating teams.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen AfriThrive’s volunteer and community engagement systems for reliable program delivery.
• Build and oversee a structured volunteer program across multiple initiatives.
• Supervise the Volunteer Coordinator and improve processes and volunteer experience.
• Collaborate with operations and development to align engagement with grants and fundraising.
• Support community events with strong volunteer coordination and partnerships.
