Job summary

City of Kaufman seeks a mid-level Communications Specialist to plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate comprehensive communications initiatives. This role supports City departments and the Kaufman Economic Development Corporation with messaging, branding, digital engagement, and public outreach.

You will manage content across websites and social channels, coordinate media relations, and support economic development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field preferred; experience may substitute.
• Two years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, public engagement, or related field preferred.
• Experience developing communication or marketing plans, media materials, digital content, photography/videography, website content, and social campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate city-wide communication strategies and campaigns.
• Advise City departments and KEDC staff on communications opportunities and execution.
• Independently manage website and social media content, branding, and campaigns.
