Job summary

PRSA Puget Sound seeks an Associate Director for the Communications and Outreach Department to bridge high-level strategy with day-to-day execution, guiding a team responsible for our primary channels: website, social, newsletters, and bulk email.

You will work with WSBA leaders and external partners to craft messages, stories, speeches, and campaigns that elevate WSBA’s mission, brand, and public engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or marketing, or equivalent.
• 7 years in a management-level communications role with direct reports and proven strategic planning.
• Experience producing and integrating content across newsletters, blogs, and speeches.
• Experience managing media relations and working with boards/volunteers.
• 3 years of supervisory experience managing team performance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Communications and Outreach Department, set budget, mentor staff, and align goals with WSBA strategy.
• Oversee messaging across website, social media, newsletters, magazine, blog, and outreach initiatives.
• Build relationships with media, bar leaders, and legal community; manage media inquiries and crisis responses.
• Plan and manage high-profile events and member awards campaigns with executive messaging.
