Job summary

East Texas A&M University seeks an Assistant Director of Communications and Media Relations to lead planning, management and day-to-day operations of the university communications function in line with the Chief Marketing Officer's priorities.

The role oversees media relations, editorial planning, internal and e-communications, and collaboration across departments to ensure coordinated, impactful storytelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, marketing or related field; seven years of progressively responsible experience in communications or related area.
• Experience developing and implementing communications plans and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and day-to-day operations of university communications.
• Translate priorities into actionable plans, workstreams and timelines.
• Oversee media relations, editorials and owned media.
• Coordinate internal communications and e-communications.
• Collaborate with Web, Content, Creative, Design, Analytics teams.
