Job summary

Rocky Mountain Institute seeks a Strategic Communications Lead to shape and execute communications strategies for the Buildings program, advancing the clean energy transition and influencing policy, markets, and stakeholders.

You will partner with Buildings, Electricity, and global teams to translate complex technical work into audience-focused messaging, guide campaigns, and measure impact across channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in strategic communications, public affairs, or related field.
• Ability to translate technical topics into audience-centered messaging.
• Experience advising internal stakeholders and managing comms projects.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end communications strategies for Buildings projects.
• Define audiences, messages, and channel approaches aligned with goals.
• Translate technical work into audience-focused narratives and campaigns.
• Advise project teams on communications timing and execution.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure integrated campaigns and impact.
