Job summary

Rocky Mountain Institute seeks a Principal to lead cross-program strategy and advisory work in the rapidly growing data center sector. The role combines data center and energy infrastructure expertise with strong program leadership and client-facing delivery across the Institute.

The position requires leading multidisciplinary teams, developing differentiated market offerings, and managing complex engagements with hyperscalers, utilities, developers, and investors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure, or a closely related sector.
• Experience leading senior-client-facing consulting engagements.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, synthesize complex analysis, and translate technical information into actionable executive recommendations.
• Experience developing new offerings, shaping client opportunities, and contributing to business development, proposals, or commercial pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-program data center strategy and advisory work across multiple teams.
• Manage large, strategically important data center projects spanning several RMI programs.
• Develop and market go-to-market strategies and priority account plans.
• Shape offerings, proposals, and engagement delivery approaches.
• Mentor and coach RMI staff working on data center engagements.
