Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Communications Director to lead our company-wide communications strategy and strengthen connections with employees, clients, industry partners, and communities. This senior role shapes Benesch's voice, messaging, and brand across internal and external channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications or marketing communications.
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications strategies.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills.
• Experience advising executive leadership on strategic communications.
• Experience leading and developing communications/marketing professionals.
• Strong understanding of brand strategy, positioning, and reputation management.
• Experience managing corporate websites, digital channels, and content strategy.
• Experience developing thought leadership and translating technical topics for wide audiences.
• Experience with internal comms strategies and communicating company strategy and culture.
• Experience with media relations and building relationships with industry outlets.
• Strong analytics skills to measure effectiveness.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across functions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor high-performing teams.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• CPSM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an integrated, company-wide communications strategy aligned with business objectives and brand.
• Strengthen Benesch's reputation and market position within the AEC industry and communities served.
• Serve as strategic advisor to executive leadership and leaders across the organization.
• Lead stewardship of the Benesch brand and ensure consistent voice and messaging.
• Oversee website content, digital communications, and social media strategy.
• Develop thought leadership content with technical experts and business leaders.
• Lead media relations and increase visibility across publications and conferences.
• Coordinate internal and external communications campaigns and analytics to improve programs.
• Mentor communications team and collaborate with marketing managers and external partners.
