The Allentown School District seeks a strategic Communications Director to plan, coordinate, implement, and assess district-wide public information, community relations, customer service, marketing, and internal/external communications. The role collaborates with senior management to shape the district's image and manage media relations and crisis communications.

Required are a Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in PR/marketing/communications; Spanish fluency is preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, communications, business or related field.
• Three to five years progressive experience in PR/Marketing/communications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Satisfactory work record and clearances (Acts 34, 114, 151).

Responsabilidades

• Directs and develops a quality public affairs and communications program.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with district admins, media, business leaders, and the public.
• Communicates with district staff, media, and the public, verbally and in writing.
• Collaborates with building administration to communicate events in schools.
• Serves as crisis communicator and coordinates emergency communications.

Conocimientos

Excellent written and oral comms

Spanish fluency preferred

Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License

Satisfactory work record & clearances

Equivalent experience/training

Educación

Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business or related field

Masters' Degree preferred
