Job summary

Kroger Blue Ash is seeking a Logistics/Supply Planning Buying Manager for a commodity group to direct and grow the planning team. You will align demand forecast, inventory, and supply chain execution to maximize efficiency and meet corporate objectives.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, Merchandising, and supply chain partners to implement buying strategies, monitor KPIs, and drive process improvements while maintaining Kroger’s values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in planning, merchandising, operations, or supply chain.
• Any buying experience replenishing distribution centers.
• Ability to monitor compliance with established guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and root cause identification skills.
• Excellent communication/presentation (oral and written) skills to effectively communicate information to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to influence others without formal authority.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, interpret and make decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Oversee supply planning of product within a given set of commodities.
• Manage team of buyers within a given set of strategic commodities.
• Understand buying strategy for the department and mobilize the supporting supply planning teams.
• Own and drive S&OP initiatives aligning demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain execution.
• Collaborate between planners, Merchandising and other S&OE players.
• Troubleshoot sufficiency and adherence challenges for strategic commodities with vendors.
• Support inventory policy objectives with leadership.
• Lead project management for planning initiatives.
• Escalate vendor or personnel issues to leadership.
• Report team KPIs to leadership for visibility.
