Job summary

Kroger in Blue Ash, OH is seeking an LOGITSTICS/SUPPLY PLANNING BUYING MGR - COMMODITY to direct and develop the supply planning team for strategic commodities. You will drive S&OP, align demand and inventory, and collaborate with executive leadership to execute buying strategies in a high-paced environment.

The role requires 5+ years in planning or supply chain, strong leadership, and advanced MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in planning, merchandising, operations, or supply chain.
• Experience replenishing distribution centers.
• Ability to monitor compliance with established guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and root cause identification skills.
• Excellent communication/presentation (oral and written) skills to communicate to stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to influence others.
• Ability to interpret and make decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)

Responsibilities

• Oversee supply planning of product within a given set of commodities.
• Manage team of buyers within a given set of strategic commodities.
• Work with executive leadership to understand buying strategy and mobilize planning teams.
• Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) initiatives aligning demand, inventory and supply chain.
• Collaborate between planners, Merchandising and other S&OE players.
• Support planners in troubleshooting sufficiency and adherence challenges with vendors.
• Partner with senior leadership to support inventory policy objectives.
• Maintain understanding of promos for commodities and provide planning inputs.
• Lead project management and support company-wide planning initiatives.
• Escalate vendor or personnel issues to leadership as needed.
