Job summary

Columbia Tech is seeking a procurement/ sourcing professional to ensure supply continuity and competitive supplier options. You will work closely with supplier management and internal teams to drive solutions, conduct market research, and monitor KPIs to improve performance and costs.

This role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, plus ERP and MS Office proficiency. Based in Westborough, MA, the position involves direct escalation for delivery issues and building

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent in business or mechanical engineering.
• Purchasing, mechanical engineering or manufacturing operations experience, preferably in contract manufacturing.
• Ability to work with supplier management and internal teams to drive solutions to closure.
• Reading and understanding blueprints and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems.
• MS Office proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supply continuity and performance to commitments.
• Provide competitive sourcing options to RFQ activity.
• Direct line of escalation for supplier delivery or related issues.
• Conduct supplier reviews, audits, and KPI monitoring.
• Manage Supplier Report Card processes.
• Develop and maintain positive supplier and internal customer relationships with high ethics.
• Conduct market research and manage potential new and existing suppliers.
• Stay informed of market trends, contracting models and obsolescence considerations.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Maintain supplier performance metrics at or above goals.
• Improve inventory turns by supplier with JIT and consumption-based replenishment.
• Improve materials cost models for Columbia Tech and customers.
• Provide multiple sourcing options when not restricted by customer requirements.
• Maintain a competitive set of preferred suppliers.
