Job summary

A strategic sourcing company in the United States is seeking a Commodity Specialist to manage the procurement of materials and services. This role involves developing strategies to identify and select suppliers, ensuring quality and cost efficiency while facilitating the early involvement of suppliers in product developments. The ideal candidate should have a relevant undergraduate degree and preferred certifications in CPIM/CPM and Six Sigma. Compensation is competitive at $35-40 per hour with a 9-month contract.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business or engineering.
  • CPIM and/or CPM certification preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategies in collaboration with New Product Engineering and Product Management.
  • Identify top suppliers for customized supply solutions.
  • Create sourcing strategies to meet business goals.
  • Consolidate suppliers with strategic partners.
  • Manage supplier performance and contract agreements.
