Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a strategic Category Manager in New Jersey to transform sourcing strategies for our advanced equipment components.

This role partners with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, and Finance to drive cost reductions and supply resilience. The selected candidate will shape global supplier roadmaps, manage OEM or build-to-print supplier models, and lead negotiations, with a focus on total cost of ownership and risk management.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 8+ years of category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management in complex manufacturing, technology, or capital equipment.
• Experience managing OEM/authorized-channel suppliers with lifecycle, obsolescence, and supply-continuity focus.
• Experience with build-to-print manufacturing supplier management, with qualification, first-article, and change-control processes.
• Proven success leading global sourcing initiatives, supplier selections, and multi-party negotiations.

Responsabilidades

• Own and drive global category strategies, roadmaps, and supplier segmentation for direct-material or equipment categories.
• Lead RFIs, RFQs, bids, and supplier transitions from requirements to implementation.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other complex commercial terms.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, and Finance to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop, qualify, and strengthen global supplier networks and performance.
