Job summary

Gpac, a Texas-area contractor, seeks a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join its team in Austin. You will produce detailed estimates, review plans, take-offs, and coordinate with subcontractors to secure competitive bids.

The role requires evaluating labor, materials, and timelines using EDGE estimating tools, ensuring safety per OSHA standards, and contributing to P&L reporting. Base salary, benefits, and bonus potential are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation.
• Proficiency in EDGE or similar estimating software.
• Solid understanding of commercial roofing documentation.
• General contracting knowledge.
• Ability to write and review contracts.
• Familiarity with various roofing systems, materials, construction processes, and theories.
• Capable of identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions in line with OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and thorough job estimates.
• Assess project labor, material, and time requirements by reviewing proposals, blueprints, written specifications, and related documents.
• Perform blueprint reviews and take-offs.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors.
• Collect subcontractor pricing and conduct scope reviews.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids against bid documents and plans to ensure all aspects of the project are covered.
• Calculate costs for subcontract labor, general conditions, and materials.
• Work closely with clients to help them meet project budget goals by evaluating plan details, suggesting alternative materials/finishes, and proposing different building methods.
• Produce profit and loss (P&L) reports.
