Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's or counseling degree preferred.
• College counseling experience in an independent secondary school strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. colleges and universities, including highly selective institutions; familiarity with international universities and UCAS is a plus.
• Comfort with digital college counseling platforms (Scoir, College Kickstart, Common Application, UCAS)

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 juniors and seniors.
• Provide strategic guidance about the college search and application process, including college list development, testing plans, timelines, essay brainstorming and feedback, interview preparation, and admissions decision-making.
• Develop trusted partnerships with students and parents through proactive communication and timely responsiveness.
• Teach and help plan the second-semester college guidance curriculum for juniors, preparing students for each stage of the college search and application process.
• Review applications and supporting materials to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission, while helping students stay on track with deadlines and requirements.
• Contribute to programming for students and families, including information sessions, workshops, and other events.
• Maintain accurate student records, application data, and office documentation with exceptional organization.
• Support office operations through record-keeping, data management, scheduling, and administrative duties.
• Maintain expertise in trends in college admissions, financial aid, and higher education to provide informed guidance.
