Job summary

CHAPPAQUA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a School Counselor for a leave replacement at Robert E. Bell Middle School. The anticipated start date is November 9, 2026, and the assignment runs through February 8, 2027.

The successful candidate will support a comprehensive school counseling program and collaborate with administrators, staff, and families. The role requires NYS Counseling Certification and prior counseling experience at the secondary level is preferred.

Qualifications

• NYS Counseling Certification is required.
• Experience counseling at the secondary level is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive school counseling program.
• Coordinate with administrators and staff to assess student needs including those with special needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling to support academic, social and personal development.
• Design and assess the counseling curriculum.
• Collaborate with families and staff on student options and referrals.
• Schedule classroom counseling sessions to address academic, career and personal development goals.
• Intervene during crisis situations and participate on the school crisis team.
• Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Collaborate with school leadership to create a master schedule and utilize the student information system.
