Job summary

The Clark Art Institute seeks a Collections Access and Reference Librarian to supervise public services, circulation, and space planning, while supporting reference, interlibrary loan, and outreach to researchers and students.

The role emphasizes developing instructional workshops, LibGuides, and ongoing collaboration with the Collections Management Librarian to maintain the library website and access to open resources.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library Science or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
• Experience using ExLibris Alma and ILLiad preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research assistance to museum staff, researchers, students, and the public.
• Develop instructional workshops on research methods and citation management software.
• Work with the Collections Development Librarian to build print and electronic reference collections.
• Develop and maintain LibGuides and lists of relevant subscription and open-access resources.
• Oversee special collections viewing appointments and user orientations.
• Develop library outreach programs including talks and group visits.
• Manage organization of open stacks, special collections storage, and offsite storage needs.
• Establish and update circulation policies and procedures as needed.
• Coordinate interlibrary loan borrowing, lending, and document delivery.
• Maintain statistics tracking use of the library and collections.
• Collaborate to maintain the library website and inform hours and card issuance.
• Participate in institute committees and regional/national conferences.
