Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP is seeking a senior analyst to drive profitable matter management and client relationship management by focusing on specific industries or practice areas. The role involves creating tools and templates, delivering qualitative and quantitative analytics, and providing data-driven insights to optimize client service.

The analyst will consolidate financial data, prepare sophisticated reports on budgets and risks, and propose cost-saving improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in a law firm or similar setting.
Excel and business intelligence skills; ability to learn BI and collaboration software (e.g., MicroStrategy, HighQ).
Analytics experience and comfort with numbers.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to diverse audiences.
Robust project management orientation with analytics and problem solving.

Responsibilities

Delivers successful outcomes for client relationships and matters by consolidating and analyzing financial data.
Responsible for execution of client support processes for a portfolio of firm clients.
Draws on firm’s best practices to support clients’ operational priorities and legal operations.
Assembles and summarizes data to structure reports on financial status and risks.
Provides alternatives to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
Provides insights and recommends tools for profitable management of legal matters.
Seeks opportunities to scale team service model and improve efficiencies.
Partners with cross functional stakeholders at the firm.
