Job summary

Alston & Bird LLP is seeking a Client Accounts Specialist to manage a portfolio of client accounts, review histories, and determine effective collection strategies. The role collaborates with clients, attorneys, billers, and the Finance team to resolve issues and maximize timely payments.

You will monitor invoice status in internal systems and e-billing platforms, escalate disputes when needed, and maintain accurate account updates while upholding strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial collections, accounts receivable, billing, or related client account experience.
• Experience with law firm billing systems, e-billing platforms, and client account management tools preferred.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned client account portfolios by reviewing history, aging, payment trends, and outstanding balances to determine collection strategies.
• Monitor invoice status in internal systems and e-billing platforms; identify issues and take follow-up action.
• Proactively communicate with clients, attorneys, billers, and Finance to obtain payment information and resolve issues.
• Research and resolve disputed invoices, short payments, unapplied payments, and other discrepancies.
• Prepare clear account updates and follow-up reminders using ARCS and other Firm systems.
• Maintain professional client-focused communication while balancing collection objectives and relationships.
• Identify collection risks and prioritize high-impact accounts with Senior Manager guidance.
• Follow Firm policies and procedures while applying sound judgment.
• Build relationships with partners, staff, and clients.
