Job summary

Solano County is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the 74-member Department of Information Technology, delivering innovative, reliable, and secure technology services that support county operations and public service.

Reporting to county leadership, the CIO provides vision and oversight for infrastructure, cybersecurity, application development, data services, digital transformation, and customer support, with an annual budget of about $51 million.

Qualifications

• Senior technology executive with experience directing large IT teams.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure, cybersecurity, data services and app development.
• Ability to translate technology needs into secure, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, direction, and oversight for enterprise technology.
• Lead modernization initiatives and responsible adoption of emerging tech such as AI.
• Serve as trusted advisor to county leadership and departments.
