Reporting as a department head and strategic advisor to County leadership, the CIO provides vision, direction, and oversight for all aspects of enterprise technology, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, application development, data services, public safety communications, digital transformation, and customer support. This position leads a department with an annual budget of approximately $51 million and plays a critical role in advancing modernization initiatives, strengthening cybersecurity, guiding responsible adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and ensuring technology investments align with County priorities and community needs.

The ideal candidate for Solano County's Chief Information Officer is a strategic, forward-thinking, andrelationship-focused technology executive who combines strong technical and business acumen withsound judgment and a commitment to public service. This leader will have a broad understanding ofenterprise technology, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, application development, data and informationmanagement, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies, and will remain current on evolvingindustry trends, risks, and best practices. The successful candidate will be able to translate complex technologyneeds and opportunities into practical, secure, and cost-effective solutions that support County operations,improve service delivery, and advance organizational priorities.
