Job summary

Community Family Advocates is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Director of Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS). This senior leadership role requires ensuring execution of strategic priorities and acting as a primary proxy for the Director while maintaining cohesive department messaging.

The CoS will oversee communications, drive executive operations, and coordinate with DHS leadership to address complex organizational challenges and stakeholder engagements on site at DHS.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of progressive professional experience, including leadership roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Act 33 and 34 and FBI clearances, valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of the Director’s top strategic initiatives and drive department-wide goals.
• Provide executive communications oversight for the department’s messaging, media relations, and digital strategy.
• Structure and manage executive rhythm and productivity, including agendas and task tracking.
• Serve as a diplomatic proxy and liaison for the Director in internal and external engagements.
