Job summary

Ember Grey is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy for its US operations within an international commodities group. The role demands a senior finance executive who can drive profitability, liquidity and governance in a complex trading and distribution environment.

You will partner with senior leadership to shape strategic growth, manage treasury and financial controls, and build a high-performing finance team across the US business.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in senior financial leadership positions, ideally as a CFO or Finance Director.
• Strong background in international trading, commodities, distribution, or industrial businesses.
• Experience in commercially driven organisations with complex financial structures.
• Experience managing treasury, working capital and financial controls.
• Knowledge of commercial finance, risk management and performance optimization.
• Experience partnering with senior executives to drive improvements.
• Strong knowledge of US accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Candidates must already be based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial strategy, planning and performance of the US business.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal financial controls.
• Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, liquidity and working capital requirements.
• Partner with senior commercial and operational stakeholders to support business performance and strategic decision making.
• Provide financial oversight across trading, procurement, distribution and operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal governance procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities and operational efficiencies.
• Support business expansion, investment decisions and wider strategic initiatives.
• Oversee financial risk management and ensure appropriate controls are maintained across commercial activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance function, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
