Job summary

Our Client seeks a Chief, Finance and Operations in Baltimore to lead the organization’s financial strategy, reporting, and risk management. This executive will supervise the operations team and guide the transition from fiscal sponsorship to independent multi-entity operations.

The role partners with the CEO and Board to ensure robust internal controls, grant management, and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit regulations. Hybrid work and a strong focus on race equity inform daily decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years nonprofit or public-sector finance experience.
• 4–5 years in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, VP Finance).
• CPA preferred; strong GAAP knowledge and fund accounting basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy and partner with CEO on long-term sustainability.
• Oversee accounting operations, audits, and external auditor relations.
• Manage treasury, liquidity, and cash-flow forecasting.
• Oversee budgeting, grants, and board-level financial reports.
• Drive transition to independent multi-entity financial structure.
