Job summary

Central Oregon Community College seeks a Vice President Finance and Operations/Chief Financial Officer to guide the college’s financial strategy, budgeting, procurement, risk management, contracts, and real estate activities, while directing Fiscal Services and Campus Services.

The VPFO partners with college leadership to ensure long-range financial health and alignment with academic priorities, including facilities planning and operational excellence across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for senior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial and physical plant operations.
• Collaborate with vice presidents on short- and long-term planning to improve student, employee, and community experience, and operational efficiency.
• Build community support via partnerships with business, industry, and government agencies.
• Provide analysis to President and Board on fiscal and operational management for multiple campuses.
• Lead annual operating and capital budget development and long-range financial forecasting.
• Lead bidding, purchasing, and contracting activities.
• Assist program directors and deans in developing business cases for new or expanded programs.
• Develop policies to ensure compliance and strong internal controls.
• Lead the annual audit process.
