Job summary

Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations district-wide. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, accounting, treasury, grants finance, payroll, and ERP systems, while driving innovative funding strategies and transparent governance.

The CFO reports to the Chancellor and partners with the MCC Foundation and leadership teams to support student success.

Qualifications

MBA or equivalent master’s degree or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Seven+ years of progressively responsible fulltime management in finance and administration.
Extensive experience in budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting for a complex institution.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Banner SaaS or similar ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise executives on budget, finance, and business operations including planning and analysis.
Supervise staff, performance reviews, and training; manage hiring and discipline.
Lead internal controls, data integrity, and confidentiality of records.
Oversee audits and regulatory compliance across grants, payroll, and finance.
Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with strategic priorities.
Manage ERP systems, chart of accounts, and reporting to meet regulatory needs.
