Job summary

Prairie Band LLC in Kansas is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead administration and financial duties, developing strategic plans aligned with the organization’s goals to drive growth and customer satisfaction.

The CFO will oversee payroll staff and HRIS/accounting systems, prepare regulatory reports, manage cash, budgeting, risk assessment, and collaborate with the executive team to guide strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent.
• Five to ten years of management experience in a tribally-owned corporation or similar operation.
• Experience as CFO or Controller in government contracting is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software packages such as CostPoint or Unanet.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounting, risk, budget preparation, financial controls and audit functions.
• Leads cross-functional collaboration to support reporting, analysis and forecasting.
• Ensures staff training and development; manages performance and salary adjustments.
• Acts as primary liaison with auditors, regulators and examiners.
• Prepares financial statements and regulatory reports including taxes and bank calls.
